What is Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)?

The best method to immigrate to Canada is with the Permanent Residency (PR) status if you are planning to settle in the country for a long time. Five years, validity, and family benefits, there cannot be a better option provided by any other country.   And the two most popular models to relocate include –

  • Express Entry Program
  • Provincial Nominee Program

Express Entry Program

The immigration procedure has been made simpler and faster by the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) through the introduction of the Express Entry program in 2015. It is the most straightforward pathway for immigration of skilled candidates to Canada in which the applicant can move to Canada in six months only provided the credential are proper and the documentation is astute.

For immigration under this category, the candidate can appear through three subcategories –

Under this system, the candidate can qualify by meeting the eligibility criteria of scoring the minimum required Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) point announced in the express entry draws after every fortnight.  In the Express Entry pool, the applicants are ranked against each other, and as per the tiebreaker rule, the applicants who are in the pool for a longer period of time are given preference over the others.

Canada PR status is allotted as per the point-based measurement system in which the skilled candidate is scored in points, and they are accessed on the benchmark of minimum points requirement decided by the IRCC (Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada)

When a candidate is applying for the Permanent Residency (PR) status of Canada through the express entry program, then there are two main models of point calculation:
